Sri N.T.Rama Rao (NTR)

The famous Star and Ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri N.T. Rama Rao worked as Sub-Registrar of Mangalagiri in 1947. It is being said that while working here, he got the invitation and he left for Madras by resigning the job. Sri Karumanchi Venkata Subbaiah joined NTR in producing the movie Pitchi Pullaiah under NAT Arts banner. Ex-Municipal Chairman Sri Goli Gopalarao and N.T.R. were friends during college studies and politics for some time. During the year 1968, Sri NTR attended the Film Fans Association state-level function held in Srinivasa Mahal, Mangalagiri to take the Best Actor Award along with a group of Film stars. Sri N.T.R. visited Mangalagiri on many occasions as Chief Minister and the President of Telugu Desam Party.


Smt. Jamuna

The famous film star Srimathi Jamuna belongs to Duggirala village near Mangalagiri. She visited Mangalagiri many times from her childhood to worship Lord Panakala Swamy. During the year 1968, she attended the Film Fans Association state-level function held in Srinivasa Mahal, Mangalagiri to take Best Actress Award along with NTR and a group of Film stars. In 1985 Assembly elections, she contested from this constituency representing Congress Party against TDP candidate. This election attracted the attention of the entire State as NTR had taken it as a challenge. Ultimately, she had been defeated and in appreciation of the same, Dr. MSS was given a chance in the State Ministry.



Smt. Sarada

The famous Star Srimathi Sarada is native of Tenali town and belongs to weavers community. She contested in elections from Tenali Parliamenary constituency in which Mangalagiri segment is a part. As a nominee of TDP, she won the seat during the 1996 elections. But, she lost in 1998 elections.
